I mentioned in my previous blog that I was going to take a short break from wave building as I was getting quite frustrated with the way my wave coding was going.....one attempt after the other! However, after a good night's sleep I decided I was not going to throw in the towel at this late stage. So the last few days I have seen me perservering with my efforts. And finally, I am very near to achieving the results I was looking for. My Surfing Simulation page gives more information and a video of the wave action.
The month of January has seen me attempting to build up some shader skills, an essential requirement if I want to build a decent looking surfing wave for my Surfng Simulation project. This has all been rather exasperating, so now a Meccano break is called for. Digging through old copies of the Meccano Magazine publication I came across a model called the "Aunt Sally Fun Machine" which I thought might be rather fun to build, as well as having some use afterwards as a demonstration of physics interactivity in an amusing gameplay. If it works as expected, I'll make it available for downloading. You can follow my progress on my Meccano page.
