My Projects
These projects all relate to some (not all) of the things that have made my life worth living.
The Virtual Workbench relates to my short two year stint as a science/maths teacher.
Robotics : The Mindstorms Project relates to my interest in robotics, especially as of late, the Lego® Mindstorms Robotics Kit. I hope to simulate some of these creations in 3D Rad and use them as a basis for my tutorials.
Meccano® World relates to my youth with only single channel TV and no computer games to keep me occupied. I had a Meccano® set which started off as a very basic Set #1 and which I built up over the years to a full-blown Set #10. I sold it for some piss-willy price when I was in my twenties. This I really regret.....because if I had it now, it would be worth a small fortune ! Anyway, I've made a start at modelling some virtual parts, and, using 3D Rad, I want to assemble a few interactive working models.
The Virtual Factory relates to my 28 year career in the process control industry. The application of computers to the control of industrial processes........now that beats game-making and game playing by a long way!
I would reccommend this career to anybody with a computer programming and tech bend.....its exciting and very rewarding.
My Hometown Walkthrough relates to the present and the environment of where I live, with its many places of scenic interest. A 3D interactive walkthrough of some of these places is definately on the cards.
My First Real Game relates to my longtime desire to make a 3D game. Nothing involving too much artwork and characterisation. Something along the lines of a 3D version of my oldtime favourite "The Incredible Machine"
Surfing Simulation relates to a sport that has been an active pastime of mine for many years.
There now........that should keep me busy for the next 10 years, don't you think?
