The room containing my Virtual Workbench has undergone some renovations. It is now a Virtual Science and Technology Lab. I'll be using it as the workplace and background for all future science experiments and technology demonstrations.

The user interface has been changed slightly, and will need a bit of practice to be able to operate it comfortably. To enable this I've placed a small puzzle on the middle bench.

Here is a pic of the instructions on operating the user interface, and using it to manipulate the puzzle pieces.

Here's the installer for this demo (approx 16Mb):

Let me introduce my new lab assistant, hastily assembled from a few parts I had lying around in my freezer.

This was put together, using 3DRad v7.22, as a test of using physics rigidbodies and joint motors to drive the bones in a skinmesh. I am a big fan of procedural realtime animation, as opposed to the conventional animation which is pre-composed in a 3d modelling/animation package, and then loaded into your 3D app at runtime.
Pre-animated sequences will perform the same movement frames again and again, whereas procedural animation allows for realtime interaction, and can be different each time, depending on the physical circumstances.
Try it out for yourselves:-

I've been very busy preparing the chemical section of my science lab.

There is a fair amount of basic apparatus which has to be assembled and tested before proper chemical experiments and demonstrations can be performed. I'm afraid that I've had to cheat a bit as far as mesh models have been concerned... the kind and generous contributors to 3D Warehouse have helped me immensely. The point is that building my own models is a time-consuming process, and time is a precious commodity to me, so why waste it re-inventing the wheel.
I'd rather get on with the enjoyable nitty-gritty of programming the experiments and demos. Besides, I'm only using the meshes... I've added my own textures, shaders, and PhysX body shapes.

Here is a video of my first test, demonstrating the pouring of a 'liquid' from one vessel into another:
And here is a video of the Bunsen Burner demonstration
It's such a pleasure working with the Oddity2 3D Graphic Engine, the API is so feature-rich that I've never been at a loss to find some function to overcome any problem I meet up with.

I've packed up this little demo for download, so that you guys can give it a working over

Suggestions for ease of use:
1) Practice object manipulation (as explained in HELP toggle)
2) When carrying out the task, you will have to move selected objects forward/backward...do this slowly, carefully and gently!
3) In fact, handle all objects carefully (as in real life)... abrupt movements of the flask, will spill its contents.
4) There is no RESET at the moment, so if you have problems then EXIT and restart.
